Nerds! Assemble! The first look at THE GREEN LANTERN we’ve all been waiting for is here! Today, on the cover of Entertainment Weekly, sits Ryan Reynolds (or a CGI copy of Ryan Reynolds, anyway) clad in green. Originally Mel Gibson was to be on the cover, but thanks to his latest “tantrum” we’re all getting an early look at what we’ve been waiting for. Thanks Mel!

According to Reynolds, Hal draws his power from “will and imagination”. “We need a circus of Timothy Learys to think of things Hal would invent with his ring.” Hopefully, later pictures and eventually, footage, live up to that description. Somehow, this was the first I have heard of the Zach Galifianakis, Robert Downey Jr. project, DUE DATE. After watching the trailer, I am whole heartedly ashamed. The trailer, which is rip-roaringly funny, appeared yesterday on Yahoo Movies to an enormously positive response.

People can’t seem to get enough of these two lately. RDJ had a resurgence of popularity after IRON MAN that has yet to fade. Starting as a stand-up comedian, Galifianakis made his way up the popularity rung by giving many performances that earned him the title “Oh that guy! I love that guy!” and finally had his fate sealed by THE HANGOVER. Now, they’re joining forces, lucky for us too.

DUE DATE tells the tale of Peter Highman (Downey Jr) who in a moment of desperation, is forced to hitch a ride with blooming thespian and all-round weirdo, Ethan Tremblay, in order to see his first child’s birth. As well as the two leading men, the film stars Jamie Foxx, Alan Arkin, Juliette Lewis, Michelle Monaghan and RZA. What are you still reading for? Go! Watch!

Now this, if anything, is a real head scratcher. Elizabeth Banks (SCRUBS, ROLE MODELS, W.) is now in final talks to play Tinkerbell in Disney’s live-action romcom TINK. Even as I’m typing, I’m still not sure I believe the words I’m seeing. Seriously, my scalp is red.

The film, dreamed up by Banks and Max Handelman from production company Brownstone Productions, the actress’ own production company, is said to play on the characters mischievous qualities, which truthfully do lend themselves to a comedy. I’m just not sure if they lend as much to a romantic comedy.

What do you get when you put Michael Fassbender, Dominic West, Neil Marshall and a whole bunch of pissed of Roman’s in a box and shake them around? Well, your previously peeved Romans will most likely have gotten angier, but dig to the bottom and there will be CENTURION, the latest project from Neil Marshall. Then more pissed Romans, but that’s not the point.

The guys are back with a vengance in the second episode of The Sans Broccoli Show. On a scary note, the two summarize their feelings on the new Joe Johnston picture Wolfman and go over their top five favorite monster movies. Ending the show is a discussion on the Spike Lee joint Do The Right Thing.
